Composite (FRP) Utility Poles
Now in stock at our Albury warehouse
Summit Power has partnered with Wagners Composite Fibre Technologies (CFT) - Australia's leading manufacturer of Fibre Reinforced Polymer (FRP) composite utility poles - to hold stock of composite poles at our warehouse in Albury.
This means faster access, shorter lead times and local availability for network operators and contractors across our region who are ready to move away from traditional timber, steel and concrete poles.
Why Composite (FRP) Poles?
Wagners CFT poles are manufactured in Australia using a pultrusion process, producing a fibreglass composite structure that is non-conductive, corrosion-resistant and significantly lighter than traditional pole materials. Key benefits include:
8-year expected design lift
Non-conductive; reduces the risk of shock or electrocution during handling and installation
50%+ lighter than timber, steel or concrete poles — safer to handle, transport and install, with less wear on equipment
Inert and corrosion-resistant; will not rot, rust or chemically react with moisture, chemicals or UV exposure
Resistant to termites and acid sulfate soils, and non-leaching, making them suitable for environmentally sensitive sites
Improved bushfire resilience
Compatible with existing installation equipment and processes; poles can be drilled and fitted on site just like a traditional pole
39% lower Global Warming Potential than a galvanised steel pole over a 100-year service life*
Lower total cost of ownership, thanks to reduced maintenance and inspection requirements over the life of the asset
