Whitehaven Mine NCO Narrabri

Case Studies - Whitehaven Coal Mine at Summit Power

Project Overview

Located 17km southeast of Narrabri Shire, the Whitehaven mine has become a vital source of employment for a significant portion of the local population. The primary objective of the Narrabri Stage 3 Extension project is to expand the existing Whitehaven coal mine south, effectively extending the mine's operational lifespan by over a decade.

As part of this extension, the implementation of a new 66kV powerline and fibre optics infrastructure is essential to provide reliable power supply to the expanded mine site. Summit Power was tasked to provide essential powerline hardware to Curry Power for this endeavour. This included providing a thorough material take-off as well as supplying the complete range of powerline hardware, conductor, and OPGW (Optical Ground Wire) needed for the project.
